The T20 Advisory Council Convened at TEPAV

Council members discussed the T20 activities to be carried out in 2015

ANKARA – TEPAV, which has undertook the organization and the coordination of Think 20 (T20) outreach group in 2015 during Turkey’s G20 presidency, hosted the T20 National Advisory Council to exchange information on the activities to be carried out in 2015.

The meeting, held at the TEPAV offices on Wednesday, 7 January 2015, started with a presentation entitled “T20 Turkey 2015: Agenda, Schedule, Opportunities” by Güven Sak, TEPAV Managing Director. Sak briefed the Council members on the history of the G20 and its outreach groups, the G20 agenda, Turkey’s priorities during its presidency, and the planned T20 schedule.

The presentation was followed by an open discussion during which participants discussed potential areas for contribution, and their opinions about the roadmap. The Council decided to extend the network to national and international think-tanks in order to provide richer content and outreach for T20 Turkey. The T20 National Advisory Board will hold at least two more meetings during 2015.

Think Tanks 20 is a platform which brings together global think tanks and high-level experts in order to provide analytical depth to ongoing G20 discussions and produce ideas to help the G20 to deliver concrete and sustainable policy measures. The T20 chair does forward a summary of the ideas discussed at T20 meetings to Sherpas.
